After a brief biography of Mr. Cox, the book features seven illustrated articles spanning over two hundred pages. The first article, penned in 1925 and titled “Let my People Go,” is a tribute to Black separatist Marcus Garvey. It opens with:

“A message from White men who wish to keep the White race White, to Black men who wish to keep the Black race Black, including the terms of an alliance between these groups against the Whites who wish to mix with the Negroes and the Negroes who wish to mix with the Whites”.

What if resilient individuals from each race had heeded and acted upon the counsel of Messrs. Cox and Garvey a century ago?
